Beautiful New Home in Cody, WY
This project was special, not just because it was my first interiors work on a residential new build, but because this was my clients' late wife's dream home. Elements incorporated during designing the home were carefully thought-out during the construction phase to ensure the clients comfort was maintained, and that the home could still, ultimately, be the dream home they both would have desired.
The Details
By incorporating warm colors and natural materials, this home truly is the cozy cabin the owner wanted. Warmth started on the exterior of the home by creating a custom stain color and incorporating Haida skirl (wavy edge cedar) siding that was reminiscent to a cabin in Montana where the clients' family shared special occasions. On the interior, stone, knotty alder doors, trim, and cabinetry topped with granite that has the most amazing natural veining gives this home texture. The LVP flooring was chosen for maintenance and warm paint colors wrap the living spaces. Window treatments add privacy and the 'cozy factor', while the iron on the staircase and pendant light fixtures over the island add contrast and visual interest to the space. Blending natural materials with the neutral palette, allows this home to fit into the Wyoming landscape, which is seen through the cathedral windows off the main living space.

I am forever grateful to the owner for trusting me with this dream home cabin on the Northfork of the Shoshone, just outside of Wapiti, WY. The end result is a perfect fit for the family and friends that visit our special places in Cody, Yellowstone, and the surrounding area. I know this home will hold many special memories, and provide comfort on a daily basis.
